Andrew lives in Maple Valley on a small farm where he and his family enjoy the labors of stewardship and a connection to the land. He has a passion for design and building with a unique perspective gained over his 24 years since graduating from Washington State University. His diverse portfolio of project types and award-winning projects range from kitchen remodels to historic preservation renovations; large luxury homes to new commercial buildings and tenant improvements.

Jeff Ruehlmann
Principal
Having grown up in the Puget Sound region, Jeff appreciates all that the northwest climate brings to architecture. His designs focus on daylight, local materials, and the years-long experience of living and working in a space. Jeff has practiced architecture for over 17 years; since graduating from the University of Washington he has worked extensively on single family homes, as well as restaurants & bars. Outside of the office, Jeff has a love of old woodworking tools, gardening, and dogs.

Sarah Atwood Black
Interior designer
Sarah has always been attracted to fine art, particularly handcrafted ceramics and textiles. She believes that good design is purposeful, life-enhancing, and light-hearted. Sarah is happiest when experiencing the satisfaction of a playful, livable space that tells the stories of its clients in an unexpected, yet grounded, way. Originally from Virginia, Sarah graduated from the College of William & Mary and earned a Master of Arts in Interior Design from Marymount University. She lives with her family in Columbia City and when not chasing after her two young children, can often be found birdwatching at neighborhood parks or spending time in the kitchen with her cookbook collection.

Office dog
Reception
(insert dog here) can be found napping under a desk or walking all over the latest flooring sample. She specializes in squeaking her toys during phone calls and begging for treats from delivery drivers. Sometimes she barks but she never really means it.
