As passionate cooks, hosts, and soccer enthusiasts, our clients found their beloved Washington Park bungalow no longer accommodating their vibrant lifestyle. The main level was constrained and compartmentalized by an imposing brick fireplace that limited daylight, obstructed flow and cast shadows throughout. prdastudio advocated for a transformative solution to remove this barrier to unify the living spaces and breathe new life into the charming abode.
With a focus on culinary pursuits and entertainment, we orchestrated the creation of an expansive open kitchen-living room-dining room area. This involved dismantling a maze of outdated walls and cabinets, providing a clean slate for a more contemporary and airy ambiance. A refined palette featuring marble, oak flooring, and sage green cabinetry not only brightened the space but also brought a modern touch.
The introduction of a new Dutch door seamlessly connected the kitchen to a sunlit patio, fostering a harmonious link between indoor and outdoor living. This renovation not only liberated space but also rejuvenated the bungalow, aligning it with the dynamic lifestyle of our clients.
